The island is superbly positioned on the Zambezi River and only accessible by boat. From here guests can experience Africa in its purest state. The Zambezi River has attracted explorers for centuries, ultimately resulting in the development of the Zambezi National Park which continues to lure visitors from southern Africa and abroad who have traditionally made use of basic chalets or tents as a base from which to sight-see in the park. Chundu Island offers a new, stylish alternative: comfortably appointed large canvas rooms with palm thatch, private daybeds, a full service bar, swimming pool, in-room massages, as well as safaris and land activities in comfortable vehicles with individual bucket seats, and on the water inflatable canoes and large comfortable barges for sunset cruises along the banks of the reserve.

Family River View Suite
Chundu Island has two Family River View Suites. The two suites each have a 2nd bedroom with two 3/4 beds for two children up to the age of 18. A third 'rollaway' bed can be accommodated in the family suites for a child under the age of 16. If both family suites are occupied, one additional 'rollaway bed' can be accommodated in a River View Suite for children up to the age of 16. Please note: The Family River View Suites have one bathroom which is shared by the childrens room.
