Overview
Lion Sands is a place that enriches one’s soul and promises life-changing moments and opportunities that will leave you with memories of unforgettable experiences. It is an extraordinary gift passed down over generations and even for those of us who have known its sweeping landscapes since birth, it remains a place of extraordinary beauty and discovery.
River Lodge is a sophisticated interpretation of the traditional safari lodge, with light and bright contemporary décor, and limited walls allowing a flow between the inside and out. Wooden walkways lead off to a spa, gym and pool, and back to the main lodge, where the deck’s connected water features give the impression of floating on the river. Whether you enjoy your time socially or quietly in the bar, restaurant, MORE Gallery (with guest Creative Lab) or firepit lounge, the running theme here is luxury living.
The lodge’s eight Luxury Rooms, six Superior Luxury Rooms and four River Suites are spaced along a path to reveal splendid river views, and make for a very personal safari stay. The River Suites, each fronted by a plunge pool and set further away from the main lodge, are the most spacious and private – and also include a Family Suite. It’s for you to choose which accommodation best suits you – but the extraordinary view comes standard.

Family River Suites
Our two-bedroom Family Suite treats families to plenty of space. Both bedrooms can be configured as double or twin and when laid out for your children, it’s like home – only better! The suite includes a central en-suite bath, private deck and pool creating ample spaces for family bonding.

Luxury Rooms
In each of our eight Luxury Rooms, fold-back glass doors unveil a private river-view deck. Inside, you'll find an ultra-comfortable king bed (or the option of ¾ twins) complemented by a full en-suite. Organic amenities add a further touch of luxury. You are in for a memorable stay.

River Suites
Our three standalone, River Suites promise even more space and heightened privacy. Each comes with its own deck and inviting plunge pool, drawing you closer to the natural world. Step from the expansive bedrooms into comprehensive en-suites, which then lead to outdoor showers, making nature feel like an extension of your living space. Relax in your personal sanctuary, soaking in the river views.

Superior Luxury Room
We offer six Superior Luxury Rooms, each notably more spacious and featuring lavish open-plan bathrooms along with outdoor showers. Two sets of interleading rooms work perfectly if you’re travelling with the family. Linger over bush views from the deck and cushioned couches, dreaming of your next sightings.
