What you can do
Cast a line
We also offer fly fishing at our dam, well-stocked with Bass, Barbel, Yellowfish and trout. The cost is R50 per fishing permit per day with fly rod hire at R 50 per rod per day. If you’re not up for fishing, the dam area is one of the best spots to sprawl out on a blanket in the sunshine with a good book. In the summer we offer a power boat for water skiing and tubing.
Child Horse Riding (maximum of 6 people)
Enjoy the stillness of the Drakensberg as you amble gently along on horseback. Always popular with couples and families, our horseback rides are one of our most sought-after resort activities. Horse rides are R190 per person for an hour with a guide, while 20-minute pony rides are R15 for children under 12 years old.
Dream Xplorers Club
Your kids will have a grand time at Little Switzerland, with a hearty dose of fresh mountain air and a bounty of outdoor space to tempt those little legs. If not playing on the jungle gym or trampoline, our games room is jam-packed with fun for the whole family and includes foosball, table tennis, an air hockey table and PlayStation 3. We also run scheduled arts and crafts activities in season.

The obstacle course is packed with challenges, including monkey bars, balance beams, and rock walls. This is an activity you'll never forget! So what are you waiting for? Book your spot today and experience the thrill of the Zipline and Obstacle Course at Little Switzerland Resort! The minimum age is 10 years and the activity starts at 2 pm. Weather dependent: We can't control the weather, but we can control your satisfaction. If it rains, we'll offer you a voucher for the same amount that can be spent on any other facilities or services at the property during your stay. So you can still enjoy your stay, even if you can't enjoy the activities on the day booked.

The outdoor sporting amenities list at Little Switzerland is extensive, with a swimming pool, trampoline, putt-putt course, tennis and volleyball court, croquet and bowls area, all at no extra cost. We offer horse riding, mountain bikes and fishing equipment for the nearby dam. Don’t forget your walking shoes. There are also many well-marked trails nearby and within easy reach.
