Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge

Lemala Mpingo Ridge sits on top of an escarpment with sweeping views across the perennial Tarangire River and valley below and matches the same outstanding standards of comfort and service as the other properties in Lemala’s collection.

Being the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, Tarangire remains slightly off the main safari circuit but is a terrifically scenic park featuring classic African savannah, green hills, woodlands and rivers and is especially famous for its large herds of elephants, superb birdlife and giant baobab trees. Guests at Lemala Mpingo Ridge will enjoy a real sense of wilderness and excellent game viewing, and it’s both a relaxing standalone destination and a great place to start a safari that also combines Lemala properties in the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti.

Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge

Located on the outer rim of an extinct volcano lies Kwa Maritane, ‘Place of the Rock’.

Overlooking a unique granite dome is Kwa Maritane, Legacy’s oldest and most famous bush lodge, host to families, businessmen and delegates from all over the world.

Kuthengo Camp

Kuthengo Camp is nestled among Fever trees and Baobabs on an open plain stretching towards the Shire River in Liwonde National Park. Guests stay in four spacious and modern safari tents which are all en-suite with a bathtub and an outdoor shower and a private deck from where the herds of waterbuck that frequent the camp area can be observed in the evenings.

Day or night game drives are offered in open-top game-viewing vehicles, and guests can go on walks through the national park, led by knowledgeable guides and escorted by an armed National Park scout. Boating on the lagoons is a special treat which can be enjoyed from end December to early April.

Konkamoya Lodge

Despite being just a four-hour drive from Livingstone’s Lusaka city or Victoria Falls, Zambia’s Kafue National Park remains largely undiscovered.

Considered to be the new frontier in Zambian tourism, Kafue was founded in the 1950s and is among the five largest and oldest nature reserves in Africa. The park has a surface area of 22,500sq km and an untypical variety of topography; visitors will be treated to 160 species of mammals, including 20 different antelopes and four of the Big Five (wild rhino are sadly extinct), along with more than 500 bird species.

Among the areas of greatest interest, the Itezhi-Tezhi dam has created a large artificial lake that attracts wildlife during the June to November dry season, when herds of elephants, antelopes, crocodiles and buffalo can be spotted.

With no surrounding fence, Konkamoya Lodge integrates seamlessly into the surrounding bush deep in the heart of Kafue National Park. Each of the four tents is located on a wooden platform a metre above the ground to deter unwanted guests, while inside accommodation mimics a small apartment, complete with bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom with hot and cold running water and shower: comfort and elegance in nature.

East-facing, all tents look across the breezy lake (Konkamoya meaning ‘follow the wind’), with marvellous views of the renowned African sunrise. All around are mahogany, ebony, baobabs…

Electricity is guaranteed by a solar system, lighting up tents, recharging batteries and charging wi-fi while being kind to the environment. There’s no generator to disturb the symphony of the bush under the starry sky: the deep roar of a male lion, the grunts of hippos and the distant coo of a Pel’s fishing owl are the only sounds, along with the chatter around the fireplace after an exciting night drive.

The property can be made exclusively available to private groups or families looking for that extra attention to detail when it comes to their trip of a lifetime.

Kisawa Sanctuary

Kisawa Sanctuary is 300-hectares of beachfront calm and coastal forest on Benguerra Island, Mozambique. The Sanctuary not only offers guests the utmost privacy across 5 kilometres of Indian Ocean coastline, but enables them to support marine research and conservation, via its sister property, Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies, Africa’s first permanent ocean observatory. Africa is home to magnificent properties contributing to discovery and conservation, however none of this calibre by the ocean.

14 spacious bungalows across 8 Residences reflect the beach haven’s philosophy of forming a bond between people and place, life and land. Spaced around the calm cove side of the island, each Residence is carefully positioned within their own secluded plot of at least one acre; providing maximum privacy and optimum appreciation of the natural environment. Each bungalow sleeps two people. Some stand alone, while others are positioned in groups, so family or friends can enjoy a balance of privacy and togetherness.

Tailor made service, plus a colourful fleet of electric Mini Mokes, mean the Kisawa experience is intuitive and self-directed, with visitors able to choose complete privacy within their bungalow and surroundings, or to adventure at their own pace and rhythm, throughout Benguerra Island and the Bazaruto Archipelago; some of the richest, least explored parts of the Indian Ocean.
